Fundraiser to equip tactical medical backpacks for combat medics in Ukraine

Saving lives cannot be put on hold. Sunflower Manchester is launching an ongoing fundraiser to equip tactical medical backpacks for combat medics in Ukraine.
This campaign is delivered in partnership with our Ukrainian partners — Auto Angel Lviv and the Svitanok Ukrainy team — who organise the procurement, assembly and delivery of medical supplies directly in response to verified requests from those working on casualty evacuation and emergency care.
A tactical medical backpack is a mobile emergency response kit designed to support medics during the first critical minutes after injury and throughout evacuation.
Each backpack may include:

• bleeding control equipment (tourniquets, haemostatic dressings and trauma bandages)
• chest trauma and burn care supplies
• wound packing and dressing materials
• airway support equipment
• splints and immobilisation tools
• thermal protection and emergency stabilisation items
• essential equipment used during casualty evacuation.
  The estimated cost of one fully equipped tactical medical backpack is up to £800, depending on configuration and availability of medical supplies.
  We have supported the purchase of these backpacks before. But while costs continue to rise, the need for emergency medical evacuation unfortunately does not decrease.
